With over 450 illustrations brings together two projects in conversation with each other, opening a correspondence, and a desire to connect in order to make and share work. The event includes a launch of ALF (Anna Lucas, Leanne Turvey and Frances Scott)’s book, Slow Reveal (2017) and Mónica Rivas Velásquez’s, I want to write to you like someone learning (2017), and will be hosted in Mónica’s studio. This space also incorporates a photographic film-processing lab, which will be in use throughout the course of the evening. The event will conclude with an in-conversation with Joyce Cronin, co-Director of The Bower.
It works as a gentle but profound calling, a flattened stone laid out to cross the stream, this alluding to another person, and turns her poem into a conversation between […] friends.
