The film juxtaposes two sequenced single shots filmed in collaboration with a group of young people in the Porthmeor studios in St Ives. It draws loosely on the history of the spaces as artist’s studios and the notion of the still life as a way of focussing basic principles of looking. Simple formal elements such as a ball, circle or block were used as a starting point for creating and disrupting lens based imagery and exploring relationships between image and object.
Commissioned by Tate Learning, Tate St Ives as part of the Circuit programme.
